Tom Ford Indian Rose Lipstick Dupe!

So, if you are a lover of all things Tom Ford makeup and in particular the lipstick in the colour 04 Indian Rose but can't quite stomach the price tag ($65 - ouch!), then I have some good news for you! I recently picked up a lipstick from the MAC alluring aquatic line in Mystical (Cremesheen) it is a stunning everyday wearable colour which also happens to be practically identical to the Tom Ford lipstick!

MAC Mystical (Cremesheen from the alluring aquatic line) - MAC describes it as a mid tone pink which I think is a perfect description. The cremesheen gives it a beautiful almost gloss like finish to the lips but with surprisingly good wear time. This is really a gorgeous everyday colour for a much more reasonable price ($38). They are sold out online (in Australia) but I was still able to buy mine from my local MAC counter so go check yours out ASAP!

Tom Ford Lip Colour in 04 Indian Rose - It is worth the money! It feels so beautiful on the lips with the perfect amount of colour payoff. It will ensure you feel super fancy when applying, that is if you can bare to apply it and wipe off the imprinted TF. The packaging is ridiculously sexy with a glossy mahogany square case (even sexier than Ellis Faas). This is the ultimate luxury lipstick.

Comparison swatches - Tom Ford Indian Rose on the bottom and MAC Mystical on the top.

Overall, these are both great lipsticks. If you are looking for a bit of luxury in your life and how a lipstick feels on your lips is paramount definitely go with Tom Ford but both lipsticks will leave you satisfied if it is a nice colour and decent wear time that you are after.

The Weekend Face

Sundays are always a day for relaxing, rejuvenating and most importantly catching up with friends. I went for a coffee with some friends yesterday with this super quick, easy and effortless face. It was the perfect 'can't be bothered to put on makeup' face that still made me feel confident and put together.

I have included a quick run through of the products I used along with a micro (too small to even be a mini) review on each.

Revlon 3D Volume Mascara (Blackest black) - this was actually part of a gift pack from priceline. I really wasn't a fan to begin with but I also don't believe in wasting so I often use it on days where perfect lashes aren't essential to me. However, as time goes on and the formula dries the mascara is growing on me. I really do enjoy the plastic bristles but overall not something I would re-purchase.

Benefit Gimme Brow (light medium) - On the opposite end of the spectrum this is a holy grail product without a doubt! When I really can't be bothered to do my brows (or anything else) I chuck a coat of this tinted, fibrous brow gel on and my face is instantly lifted, all in about two seconds. A must have in anyone's makeup bag!

Bobbi Brown Eyelash curler - Every girl needs one and this is a good one! Tried cheap ones and expensive and this is a standout.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure - LOVE THIS BLUSH! It really has a sculpting effect on your cheeks in all the right ways. Love the colour and the result.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light - I do really enjoy the glow that this gives to my skin but I feel like the Guerlain Meteorites does it so much better. I also feel like it doesn't have the full staying power I need for to keep my makeup put and my oil at bay.

Body Shop Kabuki Brush - I really like this for my powders when I want a little more coverage out of them. It is soft, inexpensive and wash and wears well. Overall a good brush.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - I love this! I love the smell of this, the feel of it on my skin and how beautiful and radiant my skin looks for the rest of the day. It is a perfect hydrating pick me up for the skin. However, this is not the ultimate primer in terms of ensuring makeup staying power but day to day it is beautiful and I always enjoy using it.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer - Another Holy Grail product! I love it! It doesn't crease and has great coverage! I use it under the eyes or on blemishes or as I did that day, spread lightly over my face instead of a full foundation.

Beauty blender - This makes blending so easy and quick - no copy can compare.

Bobbi Brown Blush Brush - This is the best blush brush I have ever used! Perfect shape, density and colour application. I refuse to use any other brush!

Lastly, my new Ellis Faas creamy lips pen - See my review here (http://beautybyrmg.blogspot.com.au/2014/06/welcome-home-l106-review-of-ellis-faas.html).

Overall, a super easy and put together face. A great match for a relaxed Sunday.

Today’s Accents

Today I had a university exam so I kept it cosy with a colourful scarf, incorporated a bit of luck with Chanel chance (my lucky perfume) and then added some of my favourite jewellery pieces. Simple and clean – my favourite look.

Chanel Chance - A beautiful light scent that I find perfect for night and day all year round. Perfect perfume staple.

Michael Kors Runway watch - it is super slim with quite a large face. I find that this combination is perfect for me, it makes a large watch still look delicate and feminine.

Tiffany and Co Return to Tiffany heart tag bracelet - keeping with the delicate and feminine theme I added this stunning bracelet. I love to mix metals to add interest to my accessories but by keeping them delicate it doesn't become overwhelming.

Drop earrings - I have no idea what brand these earrings are, I picked them up in a little boutique in Melbourne. I find that they are the perfect accompaniment to a messy updo. They aren't too heavy on the ears, neutral colours that match any outfit and completely day appropriate.

Light colourful scarf - this was a gift from a friend in the UK, it is beautiful Italian silk and perfect to wear with a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt. Laura Ashley often has beautiful light and colourful scarves that could achieve the same look.

Overall, it was a very effortless outfit that still looked put together. Perfect for a relaxed Saturday!

Welcome home L106 - Review of Ellis Faas Creamy Lips

I recently picked up my first ever Ellis Faas product – what else could I have chosen but one of her stunning lip colours. I got the creamy lips formula in the colour L106 –rusty pink.

True to its description it is definitely in the rusty shades family, it is very warm and by no means a neutral lip colour – but I love it! Although I will always need my staple neutrals I find that this colour is a fantastic alternative to some of the other dark lip colours that trend in winter (think MAC rebel). It doesn’t quite have the same depth but it is a strong, dark colour nonetheless. I find that I can confidently rock it night or day and matches so many looks and outfits. I am so glad I picked this up just in time for winter in Australia.

In terms of wear it has great staying power with a slight strain left on the lips as it wears off which is quite flattering. The formula is definitely creamy and feels beautifully luxurious on the lips. The colour is very opaque and a little goes a long way but you could sheer it out and create a stunning dark stain on the lips if opacity isn’t your thing. Lastly, I had to mention the packaging – stunning! Although quite long, the bullet type applicator is the epitome of cool, sleek, sexy and luxurious packing.

Overall, I almost wish I hadn’t ventured into the Ellis Faas lip world because I certainly feel a new obsession forming!

P.S – In Australia you can pick up Ellis Faas products from Mecca Cosmetica (http://www.meccacosmetica.com.au/shop/EllisFaas/CreamyLips/). In America it is available in Sephora.
